Manthorpe Engineering Exhibition
3D/Exhibition - Cinema 4D/Photoshop/Vray
One of my very first professional projects was to create an eye catching primary visual for Manthorpe Engineering, a first tier supplier to leading engineering manufacturers. The concept was to create a render that matched with the slogan, Clearly Better, and so a glass engine design was chosen.
Glass textures always prove a challenge when rendering and this was no exception. Older hardware and Cinema 4D’s limited stock render engine made the texture process more complicated. As this was before GPU based renderers like Octane and Redshift, Vray was chosen to provide a better result. Still, limited hardware combined with the need for this image to be a very high resolution for an exhibition stand resulted in a single image that took 28 hours to render.
The final result was well received and provided the basis for the stand and some future publications from the client along with their website.
